Horizon: Zero Dawn is officially coming to PC. The critically acclaimed action RPG from Guerilla Games has been a PlayStation-exclusive title, but after three years, Sony is finally ready to bring it to another platform.

There were rumors of a PC release for the game swirling earlier this year, but now Hermen Hulst, Sony's new Head of Worldwide Studios, officially confirmed it to be true. Horizon: Zero Dawn will arrive on PC this summer.

Yes, I can confirm that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC this summer…. There will be more information coming from Guerrilla, from the new studio directors [Michiel van der Leeuw, JB van Beek, and Angie Smets] pretty soon.

Hulst was sure to point out that Horizon: Zero Dawn's release on PC doesn't mean that every first-party PlayStation-exclusive title will be coming to the platform. With the PlayStation 5 coming out later this year, he made it clear that PlayStation consoles will still be the primary platform for first-party AAA titles.

And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.

A listing for Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition is already on Steam. This bundle will include the base game plus the Frozen Wilds expansion and a number of in-game bonus goodies.

While Horizon: Zero Dawn is getting a full-fledged release on Steam, other PlayStation exclusive titles can be played on PCs thanks to PlayStation Now. The monthly service allows gamers to access a library of more than 800 games and stream them to their PC via the PS Now app on-demand. It's all part of Sony's goal to expand the PlayStation brand to new audiences.

"I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on," Hulst added.
