For the longest time, there was uncertainty in regards to Square Enix's upcoming, and long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake releasing on other consoles; mainly because all of the trailers, including the reveal, were released by PlayStation.

In July of this year, however, Xbox Germany accidentally revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake would, allegedly, also be releasing on the Xbox One, which is something that Square Enix was quick to deny, and reveal as false information; revealing that there were no plans to release the game on other consoles.

As it turns out, Final Fantasy VII Remake is, indeed an exclusive title — albeit for a limited time, as the new cover for the game reveals that the game is a timed exclusive until the 3rd of March in 2021; exactly a year after the game releases for the PlayStation 4.

This information does not reveal whether the game will be released on Xbox and PC, but with the previously leaked information and what we know now, it is kind of obvious that both of these are unofficially confirmed platforms for the Final Fantasy VII Remake.

In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?

Final Fantasy VII Remake will become available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 3rd of March in 2020.
