Revealed during the PlayStation Experience in 2015, the Final Fantasy VII Remake has had fans eagerly and impatiently waiting for its release, while other fans have been wondering if the highly anticipated title will release on other platforms besides the PlayStation 4.

These are legitimate doubts for fans to have, as Square Enix has not yet revealed any other platforms and Final Fantasy Remake VII is a little bit under a year away from releasing, with the game finally becoming available on the 3rd of March in 2020; if everything goes as planned, that is.

Today we may have some bad news for Xbox One and PC players, as Square Enix has seemingly revealed that the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive title.

The information comes from IGN, who reached out to Square Enix about a video posted on Xbox Germany, which revealed Final Fantasy VII's release date for the Xbox One; a video that was quickly removed and revealed to be a mistake on the Xbox Germany Social Team's part.

The statement from Square Enix reads as follows:

"As previously announced, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released for the PlayStation 4 on March 3rd 2020. We have no plans for other platforms."

Now, this doesn't mean that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive title forever but, if Square Enix officially states that they have no plans to release the game, it is best not to hold your breath waiting for that announcement.

In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?

Final Fantasy VII Remake will become available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 3rd of March in 2020.
