Earlier today, Square Enix announced that over 3.5 million copies of the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Remake were shipped worlwide in only three days after the game was finally released; revealing that both physical and digital copies were included.
While this is to be expected —considering that long-time fans of the original Final Fantasy VII have been waiting for this remake to release for a long 5 years — the fact that Square Enix was able to ship such an impressive number of copies on its opening weekend.
Final Fantasy VII Remake, much like Capcom's remake of Resident Evil 2, has proved that there is a demographic that are more than willing to see some all-time classics getting the makeover treatment; especially those who have nostalgia for some of these classic titles.
Square Enix has really made something special — yet again, to be quite fair — with Final Fantasy VII Remake, and players all over the world have definitely shown their support in these long 5 years the game has been in development. The developers are Square Enix deserve all the credit for those 3.5 million copies sold. Our hats are off to you.
