Pretty much since it was first announced, during the PlayStation Experience back in 2015, Square Enix made it clear that Final Fantasy VII Remake would be releasing on platforms other than PlayStation 4, and in July of this year the developer officialyl confirmed that the game would be releasing on PC.
Well, we say Square Enix made it clear that the game would be releasing on other platforms, but the truth is that it wasn't all that clear; the announcement trailer ended with a "Play it first on PlayStation 4", but this could also mean that the game would launch for future Sony consoles.
Given the ambiguity of the "Play it first on PlayStation 4", and considering that Square Enix never really specified which were the other platforms the game would be releasing on, fans of the series have been wondering — until this day, even — if Final Fantasy VII Remake will also release on Xbox One.
New infomration seemingly confirms that this will be the case, although it would still be wise to take this as a rumour, since Square Enix has not officially made any announcements about the game. With that said, this information was apparently leaked by a listing that popped up on Target, where Final Fantasy VII Remake has been listed for the Xbox One.
This could well be a mistake on Target's side, but it is still very plausible to see Final Fantasy VII Remake releasing on Xbox consoles at some point; the original Final Fantasy VII released on Xbox One, for the first time ever, in March of last year, so there's no reason why the remake couldn't also be released for Microsoft's console.
Final Fantasy VII Remake's PlayStation 4 exclusivity ends in April of 2021, so we should be hearing news about the PC release before that. If an Xbox version is indeed on the table at Square Enix, it will definitely be officially announced before April of next year.
