Square Enix began their E3 2019 conference with a look at their highly anticipated remake of
Final Fantasy VII. Beginning with a short cinematic, the game's developers took to the stage to discuss the game. They revealed that the game is apparently so expansive that it will take up two blu-ray discs.
Some new gameplay was showed off which demonstrated how ATB meters work. When these meters are charged up, the player can unleash a flurry of magic, techniques, and a new tactial mode which slows time to a crawl. Support characters were also on show during this gameplay demo, Barrett for example offers long-range attacks and can be switched to at any time.
An extended version of a previous trailer was then showed off which featured some stunning remade visuals and revealed that the
Final Fantasy VII remake will be officially released on March 3rd, 2020. Check out the gameplay demo and trailers (via
