Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human is a month away from release and anticipation for the game is growing. However, the reception to the box art of North American copies of the game certainly didn’t help get fans excitement.

The North American cover — which focused on only half of Markus’ (Jesse Williams)
face — was criticized for having the character in a generic pose, being framed in a way that obscure the already blurred Detroit skyline, and for the exclusion of the other three main characters.

The Japanese box art seen below, on the other hand, avoids the design of the North American cover, and features all three main characters: Kara, Markus, and Connor.

However, does it have its own set of problems or is it superior the North American cover? Well, that’s for you to decide.

Travel to the near-future metropolis of Detroit – a city rejuvenated by an exciting technological development: androids. Witness your brave new world turn to chaos as you take on the role of Kara, a female android trying to find her own place in a turbulent social landscape.
