Back in May of last year, Sega and Ryū ga Gotoku(Yakuza Studio) announced that
Yakuza 3,
Yakuza 4, and
Yakuza 5 were going to be getting some HD remasters for the PlayStation 4; ever since, however, they hadn't revealed any details about these titles.
Sega just recently revealed a new trailer for
Yakuza 5 on the PlayStation 4, giving us our first look at the game running at 60fps and in 1080p, as opposed to the original PlayStation 3 version — which ran at an inconsistent 30fps.
Yakuza 5 for the PlayStation 4 will be released on the 20th of June in Japan. Sadly, no information on the western release has been revealed yet, but it is very likely that it won't release at the same time — given the series' history when it comes to localizing titles outside of Japan.
Take a look:
The legendary dragon returns to the criminal underworld of Yakuza. Kazuma Kiryu, once known as the Dragon of Dojima, was living a quiet life as a taxi driver in Hakata after severing all his ties with the underworld.
Yakuza 5 will release in Japan, exclusively for the PlayStation 4, on the 20th of June.
