HBO's live-action television series adaptation of The Last of Us is in the midst of production, what with set videos popping up left and right — as you can see here.
The series stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as Joel and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) as Ellie. The cast also includes Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) as Joel's brother Tommy and Merle Dandridge will reprise the role of Marlene (having previously played her in the video game itself). The cast also included Con O'Neill (Chernobyl) as Bill but no longer!
Bill is a character Joel and Ellie pay a visit who rules his own town where he lives alone. O'Neill has had to drop out of the role due to scheduling conflicts which has opened the door for Nick Offerman to take his place. Offerman is best known for playing the iconic Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation.
Variety was first to break the news and the official Naughty Dog Twitter account promptly confirmed the casting — as you can see below. While O'Neill would surely have delivered a great performance as Bill, Offerman is clearly perfect casting.
