E! Online caught up with Alicia Vikander at the Las Vegas premiere of Jason Bourne yesterday and the site was quick to ask the actress about her upcoming role as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot. When previous Lara, Angelina Jolie, was mentioned, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. star had nothing but good things to say about the star of the two previous instalments in the popular franchise.
"That is a woman I would love to meet," Vikander said. "She made an icon of that character, of course. She's quite an incredible woman." As for whether or not she'll be reaching out to her for advice, the actress was quick to point out that this is a new take on the character inspired by the more recent games, so there won't really be any need. "What we're doing is something quite different since they rebooted the game in 2013. It's a whole new take. We're doing a film of that game."
Tomb Raider is set to be released on March 16th, 2018, so stay tuned to Game Fragger for updates!
