TOMB RAIDER Reboot Expected To Begin Shooting Next Month
Assassin's Creed isn't the first great video game movie, so the pressure is now on Tomb Raider to deliver, and we can expect to see more from the adaptation as soon as next month by the sound of it...
According to My Entertainment World, the Tomb Raider reboot will begin production next month. The only casting additions we know of right now are Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft and Walton Goggin's as the movie's villain, so expect a lot of other names to be added very soon if this is accurate. Among the locations expected to be used are the UK and South Africa, and both sound fitting for her adventures.
The plan is for Tomb Raider to revolve around Lara's quest to discover what happened to her long missing father, and the tone is expected to be similar to recent instalments in the video game series.
Directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave) with a script by Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Gotham City Sirens), the ingredients for Tomb Raider to be a great movie are all there. Still, we thought the same about Warcraft and Assassin's Creed, so it's hard to say for sure right now. Either way, stay tuned for updates.
