It has been revealed today that Warner Bros. has signed a 12 picture deal with IMAX for a number of the studio's upcoming movies to be released on IMAX screens worldwide. Among those on the list are Blade Runner 2049, Dunkirk, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2, Godzilla 2, Kong: Skull Island, The LEGO Batman Movie, and Ready Player One. The video game adaptations which will be included in this deal are the Tomb Raider reboot starring Alicia Vikander and the animated Minecraft movie.

As of right now, we don't know an awful lot about either of those, but Tomb Raider is set to be released in 2018 and Minecraft follows in 2019. Both seem well suited to IMAX, and assuming the former uses similar imagery to recent instalments in the video game franchise, it should look nothing short of incredible. Warner Bros. is clearly banking on both being hits to allocate them spaces here anyway, so stay tuned to GameFragger for details on both of them as it's revealed over the next couple of years.
