Recently a Thief movie was announced by Straight Up Films, a studio that has acquired the rights to the story idea. So with a movie coming on its way soon(?), Square Enix has decided to erect a fifth entry into the series. The studio behind the movie accidentally lets the cat out of the bag with on their website saying, "Widely considered to be one of the greatest games ever created, a fifth sequel is currently in development to be released in step with this motion picture adaptation."
But Square Enix begs to differ, as they themselves said that currently, they have nothing to announce. So now the question is when will that fifth Theif game come out of the shadows, so to speak? I have no doubt in my mind that the game will come out, I just hope we get more information as to when that will be and the changes that will be in it compared to the last game.
