Halo: Infinite was announced during Microsoft's Xbox E3 2018 conference. Sadly, we will have to wait at least until next year's E3 to learn more about the mysterious title. The only thing we know for sure is that Master Chief will return from his unexpected side-quest in
Halo: Guardians to try to save humanity, as
Infinite will take the series into new and never-before-seen directions.
343 Industries has shared a new piece of concept art for the upcoming
Halo game, but it unfortunately doesn’t reveal much. Once again, it features a sky as a tremendous
Halo ring sits ominously in the background behind some snowy mountains, just like in the
Halo: Infinite E3 announcement trailer. While the company hasn't revealed much about the game, we know it is coming to Xbox One and PC.
As a reminder, in the
Halo universe, the Infinity is a ship which was heavily featured in the events of
Halo 4 and
Halo 5. The original purpose of it was to be a mobile colony vessel in case of societal collapse during the days of the Human-Covenant war. Considering that 343 has built a new engine to power
Infinite, the game might be one of those next-gen titles, like
Starfield and IronCold’s
Alien game.
The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise. Developed by 343 Industries and created with our new Slipspace Engine, Halo Infinite was revealed at the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing with a thrilling engine demo that provides a glimpse into the future of the Halo franchise, leading it into new and unexpected directions.
Halo: Infnite doesn't have a set release date yet.
