Halo Infinite gameplay isn't expected to be shown until an event in July, but 343 Industries is giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into the development of the blockbuster game.
The studio shared a video on Instagram, giving fans a brief glimpse at the audio recording process. The post explains what goes into the recording of some of the game's explosive sounds.
For starters, the 343 Audio Team sets up more than 85 microphones across a mile radius. They then bury charges of ANFO and TNT under six feet of dirt. They then blow up or launch explosive barrels to help create some of the sounds for the game.
Sound Design Saturday videos have been going on for more than a year. They've showcased everything from capturing real bullets flying overhead and propane cannons for explosions to Chevy El Camino, helicopters, and jet engines to help create the audio for Halo Infinite's vehicles.
Halo Infinite is easily Microsoft's biggest release of 2020, launching alongside the company's next-gen console, Xbox Series X. It will also be coming to PC and will be playable on Xbox One as well.
