Halo: Infinite, the next entry in Microsoft's acclaimed
Halo series, was officially announced back in July. Sadly, we have to wait at least until this year's E3 to learn more about this mysterious title, as studio 343 Industries seems to enjoy keeping their secrets close to the vest and the only thing we know for sure is that Master Chief will return from his controversial side-quest in 2015's
Halo 5: Guardians.
According to Director of the
Halo franchise at 343 Industries Frank O'Connor, he's
"extremely happy about how Infinite's [multiplayer] plays right now, but it will keep changing and things I like now will change and things I don’t get will improve, but I like every flavor of Halo so far, so in that regard I’m a filthy casual. What I can do, though, is listen to this community,” he said in a lengthy Twitter thread.
Last month, the director also confirmed that
Halo: Infinite will feature dynamic whether conditions to help you immerse yourself in the
Halo world, as "
the water will be varied" and "
natural landscapes will feature prominently." 343 recently announced that some new features are coming to the game, including the long-awaited 4-player split-screen mode, as the team is planning to focus heavily on customization, taking some valid lessons directly from Bungie's last
Halo title, 2010's
Halo: Reach.
