The next entry in the acclaimed
Halo series, titled
Halo: Infinite, was announced by Microsoft during their annual E3 conference this June. Sadly, we have to wait at least until next year's E3 to learn more about the mysterious title, as 343 Industries seems to enjoy keeping their secrets close to the vest and the only thing we know is that Master Chief will return from his side-quest in
Halo 5: Guardians.
Director of the
Halo franchise at 343 Industries Frank O'Connor has decided to break the radio silence and revealed during a recent conversation with a fan that
Halo: Infinite will make some changes to the old formula, as the title will feature dynamic whether conditions to help you immerse yourself in the
Halo world, as "
the water will be varied" and "
natural landscapes will feature prominently."
O'Connor later added that "
exploration will rewarded," strongly suggesting that
Halo: Infinite might in fact have a semi open world the player will have a chance to freely traverse, unlike the majority of previous games in the series. Considering that 343 has built a brand new engine, Slipspace, to power
Infinite, this Xbox exclulsive might actually be a next-gen title, like
Starfield and IronCold’s
Alien game.
The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise. Developed by 343 Industries and created with our new Slipspace Engine, Halo Infinite was revealed at the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing with a thrilling engine demo that provides a glimpse into the future of the Halo franchise, leading it into new and unexpected directions.
