Halo Infinite will be coming to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC later this year — as long as the launch of the next-generation isn't delayed as many are speculating and fearing. However, it seems 343 Industries is already looking to the future of the Halo video game series despite that the next installment hasn't even released yet.
The studio recently put out a job listing, which suggests that they're working on a spinoff from the mainline Halo series. The Halo series isn't alien to such a thing; in the past, there were such titles as Halo: Reach, Halo: ODST, or Halo Wars.
The new job listing — which is publically available to check out here — says that "343 Industries is looking for a Senior Producer to work with our Core Services team to help develop a new project in the Halo universe."
While this could simply be in regards to Halo Infinite, many don't think so due to the wording. Note the listing's reference to the Halo universe rather than the franchise. It indicates that the project is separate from the mainline series and perhaps unlike the traditional Halo experience.
There's hope among fans that it's another Halo Wars installment but also speculation that it could be something along the lines of a battle royale, specifically one to do with Halo: ODST. We can't know for sure at this point but stay posted for future developments.
Halo Infinite releases in Holiday 2020 for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
