Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, recently revealed that their new Cybertruck vehicle design is heavily inspired by video games such as Halo — specifically, the iconic Warthog.

Earlier this week, Tesla revealed their next big thing. It's a pickup truck that's oddly polygonal in design. While the look is certainly innovative, it's raised many an eyebrow. The Cybertruck has been the butt of quite a few jokes, most of them pertaining to the vehicle being something from a PlayStation 1 video game.

Some have pointed out that the Cybertruck looks quite similar to the Warthog from Bungie's Halo video game series. It's an iconic all-terrain vehicle which would typically have a minigun attached to it. Though the latter feature is absent from the Cybertruck; the CEO of Tesla recently took to Twitter that it's similar to the Warthog by design.

According to Elon Musk, in response to the official Halo Twitter account, the Cybertruck's design was inspired by video games like Halo — clearly, the Warthog specifically. You can check out the relevant tweets below (via @Halo):
