We all know that this year's Call of Duty: Black Ops IV won't feature a single-player camping, but way before Activision's official announcement of this decision, the Charlie INTEL crew had leaked it in April. The rest of their information also turned out to be true, including Raven Software's Battle Royale mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 that's being added to fill the content gap of no campaign.
Charlie returns with a new portion of juicy leaks, and this time the website has some good news for fans of the series, and also playing solo. After releasing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (which remains the most disliked COD game [at least on YouTube]), Infinity Ward apparently decided to return to the Modern Warfare titles and it's not the only return, as "several original Infinity Ward developers, who were part of the original team since the earliest days of the studios and left for Respawn after what happened during the 2010 debacle between Infinity Ward and Activision, have returned to Infinity Ward recently to work once again on Call of Duty." Here's the full list of the developers that are back:
Geoffrey Smith — Former Designer at Infinity Ward, then moved to Respawn to be Lead Game Designer; he is now Multiplayer Design Director at Infinity Ward
Joel Emslie — Former Art Lead at Infinity Ward; moved to Respawn to be Art Director. Emslie has returned to Infinity Ward as Studio Art Director at Infinity Ward)
Mark Grigsby – He was the former Lead Animator at Infinity Ward, the moved to Respawn to be the Lead Animator; he is now back as Animation Director at Infinity Ward
Ranon Sarono – Former Senior Animator at Respawn; he is now Senior Animator at Infinity Ward
John Mundy — He was the Senior Game Designer at Respawn; now the Senior Game Designer at Infinity Ward)
Joshua Dunnam — Former Senior Environment Artist at Respawn; he is now the now Senior Environment Artist at Infinity Ward
Dom McCarthy — Former Producer at Respawn; he is now Producer at Infinity Ward
Madison Cromwell — Former Art Producer at Respawn; currently the Associate Producer at Infinity Ward — Linkedin
This apparent return of the Modern Warfare series would mean that the fourth game title would be the first Infinity Ward's continuation after the studio’s two previous games, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Infinite Warfare which were the two most poorly received games in the franchise. Modern Warfare 3 was released back in 2011 and was the biggest entertainment launch of the year.
Here's arguably the best news -
Modern Warfare 4 will feature a proper single-player campaign, alongside the new customary
Call of Duty Multiplayer experience, and the return of its Zombies mode. Intel's sources also said that Battle Royale was being discussed for 2019's
COD game, but at that point, it was merely discussions. As always, remember to take these revelations with a big grain of salt.
