Creator of ADR1FT Reveals On Twitter That It Won't Have An Xbox One Release
If you were one of the 10 Adrift fans out there hoping to play it on your Xbox One, I've got some bad news for you...it ain't coming anytime soon. Click the jump to find out more details.
Normally you don't find out that a certain game isn't coming to a certain console by seeing an exchange take place on (of all places) Twitter, but there's a first time for everything. Adam Orth, the man behind the space survival game Adr1ft, revealed that the game wasn't going to be released on Xbox One systems when a follower told him that they had pre-ordered the game. "That's not real. You should get a refund immediately. Game not releasing on Xbox One." Clearly this was a left-hook out of nowhere, as up until now, everyone who was aware of this game was under the impression it would be coming to Xbox One after Three One Zero said it was coming to Xbox One.
This isn't the first time a game has been axed from releasing on a certain console and it certainly won't be the last. It's just that the way this situation played out is rather comedic in how it all happened. While owners or Xbox One's can't play the game, PC users as well as PS4 owners have been playing the game for awhile now, which is also hilarious in itself when you consider how long it was going to take for this game to come to Xbox One only to then be cancelled.
Video games, man.
