Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu and
Pokémon: Let's Go Eevee are the next installments in the
Pokémon franchise, although they aren't the
Pokémon title that fans were expecting at first but have already warmed up to.
Pokémon: Let's Go is more of a love child of the main series
Pokémon titles and the mobile app
Pokémon Go!, bringing the best elements of both into a brand new game.
One of the main changes in
Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee is that players will not have to walk on grass for random Pokémon encounters, since all the Pokémon will be visible out in the open—making the game intentionally more accessible for newcomers and fans of
Pokémon Go!—as well as being able to travel faster by riding specific Pokémon.
Another interesting detail is that Pokémon are no longer captured by fighting them first, but by simply throwing Poké balls at them and hoping for the best, much like in
Pokémon Go!. One of the features of
Pokémon: Let's Go is that the game will only feature the original 150 Pokémon from the first games, making it a treat for veteran players who grew up with the original games.
This new video for
Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu/Eeevee gives as a closer look at the Kanto region, the new friendly rival, the Pokémon partners players will be able to bond with, partner and player customisation, some of the Gym leaders like Brock and Misty, and some co-op play.
