As Niantic so punnily puts it, "its time to start egg-scavating" with the most recent shake-up in
Pokémon Go effecting mainly Fossil creatures. These pocket monsters are usually on the rarer end of the spectrum so this is a prime time for Pokémon Trainers to make the most of their Incubator inventory.
Fossil creatures will no longer hatch from 2km, 5km, or 10km eggs. They will only be popping from 7km eggs and they will be the
only things hatching from that batch so for those looking to build up on the fossil candy make sure to trade gifts with your friends as much as possible and stock up strictly on 7km eggs.
Because of the move Riolu is now hatching from 10km eggs instead of 7km eggs. The list of fossil Pokémon available to players who manage to hatch 7km eggs during this event includes Lileep, Archen, Shieldon, Kabuto, Tirtouga, Omanyte, Anorith and Cranidos.
The truth is that we don't know how long the egg shakeup will stay this way as Niantic didn't announce an end date. Vague as ever, the message in-game states that they can assure you that "Spark is on the case". You can be sure that when more information is released we will be sure to let you know. In the meantime, let us know which fossil Pokémon you're most looking forward to hatching and catching down in the comments section below!
