Mobile gamers interested in making the trip to a
Pokémon Go Safari Zone Event this year will be delighted to learn that Niantic is holding one of their 2020 events in Philadelphia and there will be plenty of rare Pokémon on sight. From Friday, May 8th to Sunday, May 10th Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's Fairmount Park will be jam-packed with players from around the world gathering to reap the benefits of the event.
Pokémon Go's Safari Zone Pennsylvania Event is going for a red, white, and blue theme that will most likely be futher elaborated on when the time comes closer. Because of this, creatures such as Alolan Sandshrew who is blue and white and Voltorb who is red and white will be heavily populating the area. Shiny Voltorb will also be on hand and repping blue and white colors as a cheeky wink on Niantic's behalf.
On to the more interesting half of the Pokémon being showcased during this event - Mr. Mime, a creature normally only available in Europe will be appearing in this area during this time. Unown P will be available as well as Rufflet, who will be released globally prior to the time of the event. Both Mr. Mime and Unown P are sticklers for stopping trainers from completing the Kanto and Johto Pokédexes respectively so this is a great time to check out the festivities.
For those looking to purchase tickets they will go live on Monday, February 24th at 8 am EST and 5 am PST on a first come, fist served basis. Before taxes and fees General Admission tickets will be priced at $12 while the Early Access tickets will be priced at $18, with the latter providing two additional hours of gameplay for those really looking to max out their experience in Philly.
