Call of Duty: Mobile launched for both iOS and Android devices on October 1st. It combines the many instalments of the
Call of Duty franchise into one mobile game with returning maps and characters like Nuketown and Ghost respectively.
Prior to launch, it was believed that
you could use controllers as well as a keyboard and mouse to play Call of Duty: Mobile. While this was an option at one point, Activision has now confirmed that you can no longer take part in online play with a console controller such as that of the Xbox One or the PlayStation's DualShock 4.
The game was updated to coincide with its launch and this feature was removed — likely as those playing with a controller would have an unfair advantage over those who are awkwardly trying to control a first-person shooter with their fingers and thumbs on a small touchscreen. However, it still seems that the keyboard and mouse is still viable.
Additionally, players were reporting that they were locked out of participating in the mobile game due to
“an incredibly high-volume of traffic." That issue has also now been resolved according to the
Call of Duty publisher.
Call of Duty®: Mobile is a new free-to-play game that brings together the maps, weapons and characters from across the Call of Duty® series in the definitive first-person action experience on mobile.
Call of Duty: Mobile is out now for iOS and Android devices.
