After restructuring and revamping its games strategy earlier this year, Disney has unveiled its latest collaboration with developer PerBlue -
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode, a new mobile role-playing game featuring fan-favorite characters from the House of Mouse.
Announced today,
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode is an action-centric mobile game in which players create a team of Disney and Pixar heroes to battle together in the same universe in "fun, unexpected" 5v5 match-ups. While Disney boasts a roster of over 30-plus Disney and Pixar heroes, most of the promotional material features Pixar characters. The Incredibles, Frozone, Wreck-It Ralph, Vanellope von Schweetz, Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, Sully, and Jesse are just some of the Pixar characters shown, but it sounds like could be on the way.
In addition to simply battling, it appears you'll also be able to activate skills, equip gear, and level up individual characters in order to increase your overall power and take on tougher enemies. A brief teaser trailer was released today, showcasing some of the gameplay.
Welcome to the digital City... and enjoy it while you can. A wicked virus is corrupting every pixel, turning even the heroes’ own friends and family against them! Pull together the best teams for the job, equip powerful gear, and battle against incredible odds to save your fellow heroes.
Only YOU can win the day! No cape required.
Disney Heroes: Battle Mode will launch later this year on the App Store and Google Play; however,
pre-registration begins today. Pre-registering will give you a free hero of your choice (Mr. Incredible, Fix-It Felix, Jr., Sulley with Boo, Jessie, or Nick Wilde) at launch - a $15 value apparently.
