Recently, 20th Century Fox was acquired by Disney. Ownership of the majority of the former company's properties was therefore transferred over to the latter.
At the time of the acquisition, Fox was working on a quite a few movies that hadn't yet been officially revealed to the public. Usefully, a Reddit user has put together a comprehensive list of those planned films (via
/r/movies). However, Disney has scrapped an absolute ton of them. Read on to find out all of the video game movies of Fox's that Disney has now cancelled.
Apparently, Fox were working on a sequel to 2017's
Assassin's Creed movie — which starred Michael Fassbender. Though not a lot of information is known about that planned film, it would've potentially taken place during the Cold War. It's also said that a third installment was also planned.
Despite having attempted to bring
Hitman to the big screen twice before and failing miserably, Fox were apparently planning yet another one.
The Sims was also a franchise that was set for a big screen adaptation by Fox, though nothing is known about that beyond that it would've been written by Bryan Lynch (Scary Movie 3) and produced by John Davis (
Norbit).
Another video game property that Fox were planning to adapt into a live-action movie was
Mega Man. Unlike the others, this film was actually
announced back in 2018.
