There's a lot going on in the world of
Pokémon right now what with
Detective Pikachu making its way into theatres this week and supposedly a brand new trailer for
Pokémon The Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution making its debut.
The live-action
Pokémon film,
Detective Pikachu, will be making its way into US theatres in just five days. However, in the franchise's home of Japan, the film has already been released. Supposedly, this Japanese version of the film is being prefaced by a brand new trailer for
Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution.
This upcoming animated movie will serve as a sequel to both
Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us and
Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!. These films are all a part of a brand new canon, essentially serving as a reboot of the classic Pokémon series.
According to
Serebii.net, this new trailer for
Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution features brand new footage and music. There's yet to be any confirmation on whether or when the trailer will make its way online. We'll be sure to let you know if there are any developments.
Detective Pikachu is set to release in theatres on May 10th, 2019.
