The Monster Hunter live-action film has been in production for a solid 4 years now, and Resident Evil movie series director Paul W.S. Anderson has been attached to the project pretty much since the beginning; first as a producer, and later on also confirmed to be the director.
A couple of weeks ago, Sony Pictures Entertainment released the first official teaser trailer for the live-action Monster Hunter film, and reactions from fans of Capcom's long-running, and best-selling Monster Hunter series were rather mixed — which isn't really surprising.
Many fans have been concerned that Paul W.S. Anderson will not be able to deliver a proper adaptation, as his Resident Evil movies have not been well-received by fans of the popular survival-horror series, and the Monster Hunter movie's premise has seemingly taken too many liberties already; much like the Resident Evil movies.
Everyone seems to agree, however, that the monsters in the Monster Hunter movie look phenomenal, which is actually, considered by many, to be the teaser's only redeeming quality — although it is still a bit too early to judge the whole movie based on a 15-second clip.
It isn't just fans who have loved the look of Rathalos, the monster shown in the teaser for the movie, as a new clip that sees Monster Hunter movie Director Paul W.S. Anderson showing off the popular Black Diablos to Monster Hunter game series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Monster Hunter game series Director Kaname Fujioka.
In this new clip, we get to see a comparison between the Rathalos from the movie, and the Rathalos from the Monster Hunter game series, and both Tsujimoto and Fujioka look actually quite thrilled to see their creation in live-action form; praising Paul W.S. Anderson for incorporating all of the elements they initially discussed, and revealing that they are impressed with the job he's done.
