New DETECTIVE PIKACHU Concept Art Shows Off A Scrapped Battle Between Gyarados & Charizard

A concept artist who worked on Detective Pikachu recently shared some of his work on social media. These awesome, new pieces of concept art show off some action-packed scenes which didn't make it into the final cut of the live-action Pokemon movie.

RJ Palmer took to Twitter (@arvalis) recently, first dropping a piece which features Charizard fiercely chasing Tim Goodman and Detective Pikachu amid a conglomeration of other Pokemon creatures. The second piece of concept art was posted just an hour after the first and again focuses on Charizard. This time, however, the fiery dragon is taking on its polar opposite: Gyarados.

The concept artist soon followed these tweets up with another which revealed some hidden details in the first piece of concept art - like it featuring Zubats and Garbadors (two Pokemon which didn't appear in the final film at all). Each of these pieces are likely designs for an early version of the Pokemon fight club which did actually appear in the final film.
