Sonic the Hedgehog arrives in theatres in less than three weeks. The upcoming, live-action movie is based on the video game series and character of the same name. Ben Scwhartz serves as the voice of the titular speedster while Jim Carrey plays Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden and Tika Sumpter play Tom and Maddie Wachowski, and Jeff Fowler directs.
Recently, a new music video for a song that will feature in the live-action
Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released online. This song is called 'Speed Me Up' and features the likes of Wiz Khalifa Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child.
The music video and song itself feature quite a few nods to
Sonic the Hedgehog canon what with opening on a SEGA Genesis and
Sonic the Hedgehog game cartridge. There's mentions of both Tails and Knuckles as well as golden rings and more. The video features 16-bit iterations of the aforementioned rappers — to compliment the classic
Sonic style.
