It's finally happening! The second official trailer for the Detective Pikachu movie adaptation has finally been released, featuring a very surprising appearance by made by none other than Mewtwo.

People who have already played the Detective Pikachu video game know that Mewtwo makes an appearance there and, since the Warner Bros. movie is an adaptation of the Nintendo 3DS title, it was only a matter of time until we saw him in live action; and it's glorious down to the last detail.

Detective Pikachu is being directed by Goosebumps(2015) and Monster vs. Aliens' Rob Letterman, with Ryan Reynolds playing Detective Pikachu and Justice Smith as Tim Goodman — who find themselves teaming up to find Tim's father who's mysteriously disappeared.

Take a look:

The first-ever live-action Pokémon movie, “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu” stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular character in the first-ever live-action movie based on the iconic face of the global Pokémon brand—one of the world’s most popular, multi-generation entertainment properties and most successful media franchises of all time.

Detective Pikachu will release in theatres on the 10th of May in 2019.
