After 2K Games officially announced the Mafia: Trilogy, fans of the iconic series have been eagerly anticipating the release of Mafia: Definitive Edition, since the second and third games were actually released a week after the developer announced them.
Mafia: Definitive Edition, unlike the definitive editions of Mafia II and Mafia III, is a complete remake of the first title in the Mafia series and, as such, it has taken a little bit longer to polish into the top quality product that fans have been expecting from the developers.
This time around, it is developer Hangar 13 the one in charge of working on all of the titles in the Mafia: Trilogy, and judging by the gameplay trailers they have released, Mafia: Definitive Edition will not disappoint long-time fans of the original game in the slightest.
In case you haven't been keeping track, Mafia: Definitive Edition is finally launching in two days, and the people over at 2K Games have just released a rather interesting video — which gives us a look at the recording of the iconic opening score of Mafia; this time, performed by the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra.
What's more interesting is the fact that this new rendition of Vladimír Šimůnek's original score had to be recorded in parts, since the COVID-19 pandemic has made it more difficult to have all of the musicians in the same room; the result, however, is still quite majestic.
Take a look:
Re-made from the ground up, Mafia: Definitive Edition offers a faithful remake of the original's acclaimed story with dramatically improved and expanded visuals and gameplay.
Mafia: Definitive Edition will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Epic, Steam) on Friday the 25th of September.
