For those of you who haven't already jumped into Marvel's Avengers during the past year, you can now do so for free on Xbox and PC if you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber. The third person action RPG from Crystal Dynamics was added to the Xbox Game Pass library today along with all of the previously released post-launch DLC.
To date, Marvel's Avengers has seen multiple downloadable content packs released, adding Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, and most recently Black Panther to the roster of playable characters. Each character is featured in their own story-driven expansion, complete with new missions, new enemies to fight, and new areas to explore.
The War for Wakanda expansion was the most recent add-on. The expansion introduced King T'Challa in a story that involved Ulysses Klaue infiltrating Wakanda to steal Vibranium.
As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, your save game and all progress is compatible between Xbox and Windows PC platform versions. Your saves will automatically transfer as part of the Xbox cloud platform. Addtionally, playing on Xbox Series X|S will grant faster laod times and higher frame rates.
In addition to Marvel's Avengers joining Xbox Game Pass, Crystal Dynamics has added a new outfit for Captain America inspired by Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War. Even though the Captain America in the game has a completely different look and personality than the one we saw on the big screen for over a decade, he still looks amazing in this outfit.
Marvel's Avengers received mixed reviews from critics and players alike. Frustrating bugs, repetitive gameplay, and a lack of content led to massive drop in players shortly after launch. Perhaps with its release on Xbox Game Pass, Marvel's Avengers can find a second life.
