Metal Gear Survive tells the story of mercenaries who were unfortunate enough to get sucked into an anomaly at the end of
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. The heroes have to figure out how to survive in the alternate reality where odd crystal zombies try to kill and eat them before they will find their way home. Don't forget to bring your friends, as the game supports 4-player online cooperative play.
The bastard child of the Metal Gear series (the events of Survive are non-canon) won't be abandoned after the release and Konami has dire plans to upgrade and improve the game:
February
Launch Celebration Login Bonus (from February 23)
March
Adding a new difficulty level for Daily Missions (Hard)
Adding a new difficulty level for Weekly Missions (Hard)
Adding a new type of mission in CO-OP
Adding a new event: CO-OP mission with the new rule.
Adding the possibility to change some of the in-game controls
Changing the personal score calculation so it takes the digger acceleration into account.
The detailed schedule for these updates will be announced later. Konami states that due to complicated development schedule, the actual schedule may slightly differ. The developer will continue to fix the balance and glitches continuously, so prepare to Survive tomorrow with the launch trailer:
Metal Gear Survive is a spin-off of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain that integrates MGSV:TPP's intense gameplay elements into a survival action format. Experience Metal Gear like you never have before with the tension of stealth gameplay, tactics of base defense, and the grueling reality of survival. Set in a dangerous, ruined world filled with creatures and hazardous mist, your success relies on your ability to read the evolving situation and make strategic choices - placing defensive units, predicting enemy behavior and designing attack patterns.
Metal Gear Survive releases on February 22, 2018.
