After being rumoured for a while, Capcom officially confirmed the news that they were working on not only one, but two titles in the critically acclaimed Monster Hunter series in the form of Monster Hunter: Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin; both of which will be releasing exclusively for the Nintendo Switch over the course of next year.
The rumour initially suggested that Capcom was using a Nintendo Switch-compatible version of the RE Engine, and the developer confirmed that they are, indeed using it for Monster Hunter: Rise, and a recent video by Arekkz Gaming has revealed even more details about this upcoming title.
For starters, Monster Hunter: Rise is the only title that has an official release date, and players should expect the game to launch on Friday the 26th of March, so it is only natural that Capcom would have more information to share about this game in particular.
According to the information gathered by Arekkz Gaming, who reached out to Capcom Community Manager Josh Dahdrai, the whole concept of Monster Hunter: Rise has been built upon the same seamless exploration seen in Monster Hunter World, which also means that the game will not have any loading screens in between areas.
Dahdrai also reveals that one of the main features present in Monster Hunter: Rise is the fact that they are introducing a wide variety of monster types, although more information about these new monsters will be revealed in the months leading up to the game's release.
On a more tecnical level, Monster Hunter: Rise is targeting 30 frames per second, although this is somewhat expected considering the specs of the Nintendo Switch, and the scope of the game itself, as it is an open-world title. On this same note, Capcom makes it very clear that the game isn't a spin-off; it is a Monster Hunter title through and through.
This is perhaps the most interesting bit of information that Capcom has revealed, as they've officially confirmed that Monster Hunter: Rise will be getting post-launch free content, but more information about this particular topic will be revealed later on.
