Released only a few weeks ago, Bandai Namco and Double Fine Productions' new roguelike
RAD is set on a post-apocalyptic world that mixes some pop music and aesthetics from the 1980s; hence it's radical name.
Not long after the game's release, Bandai Namco shared a behind-the-scenes video that introduced us to mutations — which is one of the game's main mechanics that allow players to mutate their characters — and also revealed how the developers managed to balance these mutations out.
Today, Bandai Namco has shared yet another behind-the-scenes video for
RAD, which reveals some of the challenges that the developers had to overcome when designing the procedural world — keeping in mind that this is a roguelike title — and how they worked on the game's music and audio in general.
Take a look:
Playing as a teenage protagonist, you must venture into the Fallow — an ever-changing, radioactive wasteland filled with unknown and unspeakable creatures. It is here that you will find the solution to heal the world, and transform the cracked, barren landscape into a lush source of new life.
RAD is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam).
