Ubisoft surprised us all when they announced that
Assassin's Creed III would be getting a remastered edition, since the it quite literally came out of nowhere. The announcement was revealed at the end of one of the latest post-launch content trailers for
Assassin's Creed Odyssey, although we barely got to see any footage of this remastered version of the game.
What Ubisoft did let us know, however, was that
Assassin's Creed III: Remastered would be including pretty much everything that was released for the original, plus
Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, although it will be doing away with both games' multiplyer modes. The new game is supporting 4K and HDR resolutions, plus other graphical enhancements that will make the game look far better than it did in 2012 when it was originally released.
Up to this point, we had a rough idea of what Ubisoft would actually be enhancing, since the game already looked pretty good on the previous generation of consoles, and today the developer has shared the first gameplay trailer for
Assassin's Creed III: Remastered; looking far better than we could have ever predicted.
With this new trailer for
Assassin's Creed III: Remastered, we also get an official release date for the game — which will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the
29th of March.
Take a look:
Assassin’s Creed® III takes you back to the American Revolutionary War, but not the one you’ve read about in history books. As a Native American assassin, eliminate your enemies with guns, bows, tomahawks, and more! Join the Continental Army in a war for our freedom.
Assassin's Creed III Remastered will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the 29th of March.
