In the critically acclaimed
Assassin's Creed Odyssey, you can choose between playing the main storyline as two siblings - Kassandra and Alexios. While the core gameplay doesn't chance much depending on that particular choice, some fans of the series had been vocally expressing their distaste towards Ubisoft for focusing on the male protagonist while advertising their video game before its release.
According to director Scott Phillips, 2/3 of all
Assassin's Creed Odyssey players have decided to explore the digitalized version of ancient Greece as Alexios, while only 1/3 of consumers have chosen to play the award-winning title as his sister. It's a fascinating split, as it was roughly 50/50 during playtests, the director revealed, and he even thought that there would be "
a little bit more Kassandra."
Ubisoft has already confirmed that they are moving away from telling their
Assassin's Creed stories from only one perspective and the potential future games (as a reminder, there will be no new Assassin's Creed in 2019, but Ubisoft is still planning to launch a remastered version of
Assassin's Creed III) will feature an
Odyssey-like freedom of choice when it comes to picking your very own protagonist.
Take control of your destiny and write your own epic odyssey as you journey to become a legendary Spartan hero. Live incredible adventures in a world where every choice matters. Rejected by your family, you must embark on an adventure from outcast mercenary to legendary Spartan hero to uncover the truth about your past.
