Over the past week or so, a lot of videos have been popping up on YouTube ridiculing Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection and the fact that the graphics are actually worse in places than the versions of the game released on the previous generation of consoles. Most have been making fun of a pretty hilarious looking bug eyed NPC who is in Assassin's Creed II, and that's actually led to Ubisoft responding.
The NPC in question only appears in Sequence 1, Memory 1 in Assassin’s Creed II and is randomly generated, appearing infrequently. The graphics issue does not affect the core gameplay of Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection. Overall, Assassin’s Creed The Ezio Collection has been well-received by fans and newcomers to the franchise alike. Here at Ubisoft, we’ve been happy to read all the great feedback from gamers as they’ve stepped back in time to relive the adventures of our beloved Ezio."
While it's true that this is a bug which doesn't negatively impact the experience of playing the game, it's not the sort of publicity Ubisoft probably wanted for this remastered collection. The fact that they're responded to it is actually extremely surprising, and despite the fact that they claim this NPC is randomly generated, it should be interesting to see if they end up fixing that with a future patch.
