Over a year and a half have passed since the release of the most recent instalment in the Assassin's Creed video game series — that being Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Last week, a reputable insider who goes by the Twitter handle @Shinobi602 claimed that the next Assassin's Creed game is going to be revealed soon. Even more recently, the reliable source has reiterated their scoop.
It's a widely held belief that the next Assassin's Creed game will deal with vikings and Norse mythology. Rumours regarding the game's setting and contents have circled for a long while, the most prevalent of which claimed that the next Assassin's Creed game will be titled: Assassin's Creed Ragnarok. However, another insider by the name of Daniel Ahmad shot down that one.
Shinobi602 doesn't seem to be privy on those types of details but seems to know when Ubisoft plans to unveil the game itself. They're one of the most reputable insiders in the industry, up there with Daniel Ahmad and Jason Schreier. While his claims are by no means official and should always be taken with a grain of salt; this insider a lot more accurate than they're not.
Twice today, Shinobi602 found themselves levied tweets about the next Assassin's Creed game. Firsly, the insider outright stated that they know when the reveal is coming. They proceeded to reiterate that it's very soon. You can check out their tweets on the matter below:
Though many believe that it could take place in June, as that's when E3 would have taken place (if not for being cancelled on account of the coronavirus pandemic); given the insider's insistence that the game will be revealed soon, we're inclined to believe it could take place sometime next month.
Of course, though, this is all just speculation and rumours. What's more, Ubisoft's plans could change at any time — especially during these tumultuous times.
