Batman: Arkham Origins developer WB Games Montréal has been quietly working on a new game for quite a while now, but now the studio is now openly ramping up hiring for the mysterious project. In a post on Facebook, WB Games Montréal calls for a Technical Director "to lead our team of programmers" and "join a passionate team working on expanding the DC universe in the interactive space."
WB Games Montréal certainly has a history with DC Comics video games. As previously mentioned, the studio worked on Batman: Arkham Origins, a prequel to Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham games that released to a relatively lukewarm reception back in 2013. Other DC projects from the studio include the enhanced Wii U port of Batman: Arkham City as well as Batgirl-themed DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight.
A new installment in the Batman: Arkham series is the most likely candidate, but it's entirely possible WB Games Montréal could be hiring for a game based on a totally different DC Comics character, like Superman - a game in which rumors have been swirling about for years. Of course, through all of this we have to figure original Batman: Arkham developer Rocksteady is presumably also working on something DC-related.
For now, all we can do is speculate on what WB Games Montréal's "new IP project for next generation game platforms" will be. What DC Comics character do you hope to see the studio bring to gaming consoles?
