According to the Korean Game Rating Board and the ratings board for the Australian Government, the next Hitman game will be titled Hitman: Sniper Assassin.  Most gamers are now anticipating a formal announcement from IO and/or WBIE for E3 this June.

Last November, IO confirmed that a new installment in the Hitman franchise was on the way but declined to reveal any specifics.  Around that time, it was also revealed that a live-action Hitman TV series was in development from the creative team behind the John Wick film series.

The question that all Hitman gamers have at the moment is whether the title pertains to a new Hitman game or whether it's the title of what will be season 2 of the 2016 Hitman title.  After parting ways with Square Enix, IO made the bold choice to go episodic with Hitman and were rewarded for there daring with fan and critic praise alike.  The aforementioned Sniper Assassin could be season 2 of that release or a new standalone title that has some far off release date.  Either way, IO should be releasing details in the next couple of months.
