Back in 2016, IO Interactive rebooted their long-running stealth action game series Hitman — with an instalment simply titled as such. Hitman was released episodically from March 2016 to December 2016. However, all of the game's levels are now available to play so you wouldn't have to wait whatsoever. What's more, they released a follow-up in 2018 called Hitman 2.
There's also a third instalment in the works — more on that here — but that's beside the point. The first instalment is now available for free on PlayStation 4 for a limited time. You don't need PlayStation Plus or anything either — though May's free PlayStation Plus games will soon be introduced. Hitman is available for free until May 3rd, 2020.
Unfortunately, it seems that the title won't be playable for free beyond that point. Though, that's more than enough time to blast through every level. Any progress you make in game during the free-to-play period will carry over should you subsequently choose to purchase a copy outright.
Multiple other Hitman games are now available to purchase for a discounted price. Notably, the aforementioned sequel; Hitman 2 is now available for just £15.99. That's 70% off the game's usual price. You can check out IO Interactive's announcement tweet below (via @IOInteractive):
