Back in July 2019, IO Interactive confirmed that they were working on a third installment in their rebooted Hitman video game series — as you can see here. Fast forward to today, and Hitman 3 has now been officially announced.
If you're unfamiliar with the Hitman game series, first of all, we pity you because you're absolutely missing out on a boatload of fun. They're stealth games in which you play an assassin, the titular hitman. You're assigned a target and must use your wit and creativity to track them down and eliminate them without being detected or, at least, without getting killed yourself.
The two previous installments, in particular, went down very well with players. Hopefully, Hitman 3 will be no different. During Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event, Hitman 3 was officially revealed. There's an action-packed trailer which sees Agent 47 taking down his targets and seemingly finding himself atop the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. That will undoubtedly be a playable map in-game.
Hitman 3 will be coming to the PlayStation 5 in January 2021. Not only that, but the third installment will also be coming to the PlayStation 4. Whether Hitman 3 will also be coming to the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC is currently unknown, but the previous two installments sure did.
You can check out the official trailer for Hitman 3 below (via PlayStation):
