Grinding Gear Games has unveiled Path of Exile: Secrets of the Atlas, the latest expansion for the long-running ARPG franchise, launching June 13 for PC, Mac, and consoles. This content drop marks one of the most ambitious updates yet, introducing an all-new endgame storyline, a powerful set of bosses, a fresh challenge league, and major overhauls to legacy systems.
Take a look at the official trailer for the expansion down below:
Zana Returns in a New Endgame Story
The central focus of Secrets of the Atlas revolves around rescuing Zana, the fan-favorite NPC, from a reality-twisting force corrupting the Atlas. Guided by the mysterious Eagon, players will traverse the "Threads of Consciousness," fragmented memory zones that reveal distorted echoes of the Atlas's past. These dreamlike areas contain new enemies, lore, and opportunities to shape maps with Zana's influence.
Three new Pinnacle Bosses await those brave enough to challenge them, offering rare items and the highest-tier rewards seen yet in Path of Exile's endgame. Zana-Influenced Maps, a new feature, allow players to alter maps with powerful Memory modifiers for enhanced loot and combat effects.
A New Challenge League: Mercenaries of Trarthus
The Mercenaries of Trarthus League puts players in contact with rogue warriors from a brutal land. Each mercenary encountered has randomized abilities and equipment and can be recruited, challenged, or exiled. You’ll need to duel them in true Trarthan fashion.
Mercenaries can fight alongside players in their maps, increasing both the danger and the rewards. Completing up to 40 league-specific challenges unlocks cosmetic pieces of the exclusive Watcher's Wrath Armour Set, which will also carry over to Path of Exile 2.
System Revamps and Quality of Life Updates
Several legacy features are getting overhauled. Betrayal content has been streamlined with permanent Syndicate states, better reward pacing, and updated Safehouse loot. The Runegrafting system introduces powerful passive tree customization by replacing Mastery nodes with special Runes.
Settlements are now fully accessible at endgame through Kingsmarch services no need for town-building. Other improvements include off-site item unveiling, enhanced map device tools, and game pausing support.
Hardcore Race and Supporter Packs
To celebrate the expansion’s release, a Hardcore Solo Self-Found race event will challenge players to defeat the new Pinnacle Bosses as quickly as possible. Details will be revealed closer to launch.
New supporter packs are also live, featuring themed cosmetic items across multiple tiers. The Cryptkeeper and Phrecian Magistrate bundles offer armor sets, pets, portals, hideout decorations, and more.
Path of Exile: Secrets of the Atlas launches June 13, 2026. With new story content, crafting systems, and one of the most experimental leagues yet, the future for Path Of Exile just got a lot more exciting.
