Insomniac Games' Spider-Man 2 is arguably the year's most highly anticipated video game, and everything we've seen from it suggests the franchise will expand in amazing and spectacular new ways.
Peter Parker will initially don the Venom symbiote, but both he and Miles Morales will eventually face the real deal. However, we expect Harry Osborn to be in the suit rather than Eddie Brock, making this battle especially personal for the original Spider-Man.
Tony Todd is voicing the villain and some new stickers for the video game sequel reveal Venom's fierce new chest logo. It's a terrific design that is both familiar and new as Insomniac continues to put its own spin on the wall-crawler's world.
In other news, the company has confirmed Spider-Man 2 will have a presence at this month's San Diego Comic-Con, suggesting it's going to be there that we get a new trailer for the game.
A panel has yet to be announced, though we'll be sure to keep you updated on that front.
The synopsis for the game reads, "Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, return for an exciting new adventure in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise."
"Swing, jump and utilise the new Web Wings to travel across Marvel’s New York, quickly switching between Peter Parker and Miles Morales to experience different stories and epic new powers, as the iconic villain Venom threatens to destroy their lives, their city and the ones they love."
Spider-Man 2 will be released on October 20.
