E3 2019 will be taking place in just one week's time. The game director behind the first instalment in The Evil Within horror series, Shinji Mikami, recently posted a tweet which appears to be teasing that he'll have something to show off at the upcoming gaming event.

According to PushSquare, Mikami's tweet translates to "Next week E3 business trip." You can check it out for yourself below:

Fans of the afformentioned horror series instantly took this tweet as a pseudo-announcement that The Evil Within 3 will be revealed at E3. It has been a two years since the most recent instalment in the video-game series released and in that time no a single piece of DLC has been released, so it's obviously incredibly unlikely that they'd start now.

Mikami's other notable directing credits include games in the Dino Crisis and Resident Evil series, it's unlikely but his attendance could have something to do with those franchises. Perhaps he's got an entirely brand new IP to announce or maybe a sequel to something more obscure than the two games we just mentioned.

All in all, it's most likely a third instalment in the The Evil Within series - we'll just have to wait until Bethesda takes to the stage on June 9th to find out.
