Another leak has sprung regarding
Watch Dogs 3 which claims that the game is to be revealed this month and release in November. This leak also reveals some interesting and plausible details about the sequel's story and gameplay. Discovered by
Watch Dogs' subreddit (via
Comicbook.com), it is one of many leaks and rumours which claim the game will take place in London, UK.
In line with other rumours, the leak also makes mention of a female protagonist. This new rumour claims that the player-character will be named Sarah.
"A young, half-Asian woman who works for a counter-terrorist organization that specializes in thwarting cyber attacks." The game sees Sarah tasked with inflitrating a hacker group, finding out who their leader is, and taking them down.
What is perhaps the most interesting and plausible detail mentioned in this leak is that there won't be any lethal weapons. Players will be outfitted with batons and tasers, thereby bigging up the stealth aspect of the game. This not only makes sense as guns are strictly illegal in the UK, but it would also place a larger emphasis on the player's hacking ability.
A common critique of the previous two instalments is that it is much more efficient to simply charge into a mission, guns blazing, rather than make use of what makes
Watch Dogs unique: the hacking.
According to this leak;
Watch Dogs 3 will indeed take place in London, but in the near future rather than the modern day. The game will apparently feature skateboarding, graffiti, and the return of parkour from the previous instalment - though it has now been much improved.
Side missions will also return. These will see players taking down drug operations as Sarah's brother died from overdosing and thus she has
"a strong passion to stop the prevalence of drugs." There's also a mechanic which allows players to take part in or take down riots.
