In February of this year, Electronic Arts and DICE announced that Star Wars Battlefront II would be getting "The Battle on Scarif" as part of the Age of Rebellion update; bringing back the popular location from the previous game, which is inspired by the final battle in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story movie from 2016.
"The Battle on Scarif" was initially scheduled to become available at some point in March and it was eventually delayed to mid-April. Unfortunately, on the 15th of April the developers announced that the update was once again being delayed to an unspecified date this month.
According to the developers themselves, "The Battle on Scarif" update was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic — so it was more than understandable that they would choose to push back the release date a little bit longer; plus, they reassured fans that the update was still releasing this month.
Today, EA Star Wars has surprised us all by announcing that the long-awaited update will finally become available on the 29th of April, and tomorrow Star Wars Battlefront II players will finally be able to enjoy all of the content "The Battle on Scarif" is bringing with it.
"The Battle on Scarif" is including the Scarif battlefront, as well as fan-favourite characters from the Star Wars universe, and Electronic Arts tells us all about it in this new Community Update video ahead of tomorrow's release.
